our labor story

Our Dr and us decided it would be best to induce at 39 weeks. We turned 39weeks on Sunday November 8 and Rayla Sue was born November 9.
We went into the hospital bright and early at 6am they hooked all the monitors up on me and then my Dr came in and broke my water and then it all started. We put a movie on hoping it would distract me from the contractions and well that didn't work. My goal was to make it as far as i could handle with out an epidural. Wes was amazing he would watch my contractions and tell me when they had reached their high point and when they were coming back down, i know that this may sound like it makes no sense considering i could feel them and would probably know that, but it did really help. I made it half way and then decided to have an epidural, after that I just slept and wes watched another movie. By 6 it was time. The nurse came in and got everything set up and had me do two practice pushes and then she brought the Dr in he told me to push and that was it one push later Rayla sue was here! No ripping or stitching, I was very lucky to have such a great labor especially when I could hear women in surrounding rooms not sounding so lucky. Rayla weighed 7lb and 13ounces and 19.5 inches long and born at 6:23pm. I can't even describe how amazed we were by the entire experience she is more then we could ask for, we love her so much and are so blessed that she is a part of our family.
